New MCard Prices 2025
17 March 2025We have done our best to keep price increases to a minimum to ensure MCard tickets still offer great value travel throughout West Yorkshire. We have also introduced more day ticket bundles if you are not travelling every day. These tend to be cheaper than buying individual day tickets.
MCard makes travel across West Yorkshire easier with a range of mobile and smartcard tickets valid on any bus or train in West Yorkshire, not matter which company runs it.
Multi-Zonal Bus & Rail Tickets
Following the guidelines on the increase in rail prices from the Department for Transport and a detailed review of our prices, rail zonal MCards (combined bus and rail) and rail only travel, will increase by 4.6%.
Prices for combined bus & rail MCard tickets will change on Sunday 02 March.
Prices for bus only MCard tickets will change on Sunday 30 March 2025.
An interim price list will be available at Travel Centres throughout the month of March.
Bus Only Tickets
We want to keep the cost of bus travel as low as possible to make sure you can get to work and college affordably and be able to see friends and family across West Yorkshire.
The national fare cap changes will see the cost of a single bus journey across the country has risen from £2 to £3. In West Yorkshire, we’re keeping fares below the national average, remaining one of the cheapest across the country, increasing from £2 to £2.50 from 30 March. If your bus journey crosses a boundary into another area, you’ll only pay the fare from where you started your trip, regardless of different fares elsewhere.
We still think our fares offer excellent value, especially compared to the cost of driving and parking. Remember MCard tickets are valid for unlimited travel on any operator’s service across West Yorkshire.
The following prices will be effective from Sunday 30 March 2025.
