Bradford Interchange Bus Station update

West Yorkshire Combined Authority has announced that plans are being drawn up to safely reopen the bus station by January 2025. A target date of 5 January 2025 has been set for the reopening of Bradford Interchange bus station, ahead of a final decision on reopening, which will be made by committee members next week.

Bradford Interchange Bus Station – lower concourse reopening 

From midday on 28 October, passengers can access the rail station via the bus station lower concourse entrance off Bridge Street as part of a phased reopening of the Interchange. Passengers will be able to use the stairs, escalators or lift to access the rail station. The external access ramp to the train station will be temporarily closed for renovations until late December. 

The toilets have been refurbished and will be open for customers to use free of charge. Retail outlets remain closed for the time being.  

The bus station upper concourse remains closed for bus services. A target date of the 5 January 2025 has been set as part of a phased reopening of Bradford Interchange Bus Station.

Train Services – Rail services are not affected. The rail station and ticket office remain open.  Please use the bus station lower concourse entrance to access rail platforms and the ticket office. 

MCard Tickets

If you have an iOS or Android smartphone please download the MCard Mobile App from your app store to buy and store MCard tickets to your mobile device.

The Metro Travel Centre remains fully open in Northern Rail's ticket office at Bradford Interchange for MCard ticket sales, bus and pass information. There is also an MCard ticket machine outside the ticket office for customers who wish to top up their MCards by card payment. 

MCard tickets covering both bus and rail travel are available for purchase from West Yorkshire rail station ticket machines. 

MCard Adult bus DaySaver tickets and Under 19 MyDay and MyWeek tickets can be bought on the bus.
